Stressful, jam-packed days can leave you a little scatterbrained. You might feel like you can’t focus, or maybe you are thinking about what you are planning on making for dinner that night. I know when I have certain deadlines I am supposed to meet, I am more likely to try to work quickly to get things done instead of being mindful and prioritizing.
Prioritizing your work can help you get things done efficiently. Not only will it be done in a timely matter but it will have all of your focus dedicated to that task. Try to eliminate multitasking as much as possible and take your time.
Another thing you might try to do is take advantage of your breaks. I am definitely guilty of wanting to eat at my desk and work through lunch, or of not stepping outside to take a 10-minute walk to clear my mind and breathe in the fresh air. Those mental clarity breaks are important in order to come back to your workspace feeling refreshed enough to be 100 percent present.
Lastly, don’t forget to breathe. Your breath is important (obviously) and you want to make sure you are controlling it. Try out some breathing exercises. The good thing about breathing exercises is that they can be done anywhere! Take some time to close your eyes and tune into your breath. That alone has truly relieved myself from anxiety in my workspace.
