Q: My Bio-nude color has changed from a clear to a slight yellow. I purchased it approximately 12-14 months ago. I don’t see an expiration date on the container & pitched the box it came in. I noticed the tan color inside the lid. I remember the lubricant as being clear. Is it bad? I haven’t noticed any problems physically except it seems to get sticky.

A: Thanks for your question. BioNude has a shelf life of 2 years. Once the product is opened, we recommend using it within 12 months. The expiration date can be figured out by looking at the lot code number, which is stamped into the crimp on the front of each product tube. You can find more information about the expiration date in our FAQ section. Occasionally any lubricant left near the outside of the tube orifice may discolor over time as a result of oxidation after prolonged exposure to air. Ensure you wipe away any excess product around the lid after use and prior to closing!

Q: I have noticed when I first put this on it burns and stings. After a while it gets better. Is that normal and will it eventually quit doing that. Also, can I use it everyday as a vaginal moisturizer?

A: Thanks for reaching out. We’re sorry to hear about your experience with BioNude. To give some understanding about our products, all our products are formulated to optimal vaginal pH ranges (3.8-4.6). In some cases, if someone has an elevated pH or vaginal sensitivities, the lower pH of the product can cause the warming sensation. Once your vaginal pH returns to optimal levels, this should go away. Additionally, we carry two products that are specifically used as moisturizers: Restore and BioNourish Moisturizing Vaginal Gels.
