"The label says the product may cause tingling. It did. By the second and third use, the tingling evolved into a burn that worsened into swelling and discharge, I am sensitive to perfumes (not essential oils) and suspect the fragrance was not from coconut oil,"

Glide doesn't last long

"I was really hopeful for this product, but it's unfortunately 'just like all the others'. It is easy to apply and is slippery but with repeated friction it breaks down and has to be constantly reapplied. That's not what I expected; I thought the glide would last longer than a few minutes. I think this product is priced OK but when you consider the need to buy more to ensure you have enough for any friction-inducing experience, it can get pricey. Also, I've been told this does not taste nice, so we are only applying it after other activities and then are not engaging in the pre-activities any more, which is also a bummer."

It works well, but…

"This works well and it definitely provides lasting lubrication… I wanted to try it because of the hyaluronic acid to prevent post-sex irritation, so the product does great in that regard! That said, I also noticed that the thick consistency of the gel interferes with internal sensation and decreases pleasure as a result. So I prefer the original GCL Bio-match lubricant for intimacy and just use the “Restore” vaginal gel afterwards for extra soothing… This can still work well for external sensation, though!"

This lube is listed as condom-safe, but general safety advice usually advises against using oil-based lube with latex and polyisoprene condoms. Can you explain more about how a coconut oil-based lube can be condom-safe?
Great question! While pure coconut oil isn’t safe with latex or polyisoprene condoms, our lubricant is a water-based emulsion meaning the coconut oil is carefully blended and stabilized in a way that won’t damage condoms. It’s been tested for compatibility and is completely compatible with non-lubricated latex, lubricated latex, and lubricated polyisoprene male condoms. It is, however, not compatible with polyurethane condoms. So although it contains coconut oil, it doesn’t behave like an oil-based lube.
