In 2003, our founder Wendy Strgar faced a problem many women know all too well: intimacy that had become painful after having children. Traditional lubricants only made things worse, and when she looked into why, the research confirmed what her body already knew. Most conventional products aren't formulated with the female body in mind. They disrupt the vaginal microbiome, strip away natural defenses, and increase the risk of infection.
Wendy's mission became clear: to understand the vaginal microbiome to develop products that support what it needs. She met with scientists and healthcare experts, immersed herself in research, and got to work building something better. In 2004, Good Clean Love introduced Almost Naked® personal lubricant, creating the first better-for-you itimacy product.. It was the first step towards a portfolio of sexual wellness and feminine hygiene products that set a new gold standard of intimate care for women.
Over twenty years later, our original mission hasn't changed. Today, Good Clean Love is still a sex-postive, women-led company with leaders who bring that same lived experience and scientific curiosity to everything we make.

Our founder, Wendy Strgar, was reading a NIH study on the osmolality of lubricants, where one of the lead researchers, Dr. Richard Cone, was quoted saying, “All sexual lubricants should be reformulated.” So she picked up the phone and called him.
Their conversation grew into a friendship and partnership that inspired Bio-Match®, designed to support your vaginal ecosystem through pH balance, iso-osmolality, and protective lactobacilli.
The science backed it up. Almost Naked® became the first lubricant proven not to disturb the vaginal microbiome, validated by an NIH study that found most conventional lubricants do exactly the opposite. In 2012, Good Clean Love became the first company to offer an organic personal lubricant deemed one of the safest on the market for delicate vaginal tissue. It was landmark recognition, and it confirmed what Wendy had believed from the start: that intimate health products could meet the highest scientific standard without compromising sensation or pleasure.
Wendy didn't stop there. She kept forging partnerships with leading gynecologists and scientists, growing Good Clean Love's line from lubricants to feminine hygiene, always with the same dual commitment: real science and genuine pleasure.
