Fall is here, and the nights are getting longer.. Enter: wax play. It can sound intimidating if you've never tried it, but it's actually one of the easiest ways to bring a new kind of touch into the bedroom. Here’s how:
What Is Wax Play?
Wax play is all about temperature and sensation. Our Massage Candles are made with a low-melt formula that turns into warm, silky massage oil instead of hard, hot wax, so instead of the sting you might picture, you get warmth that pools and glides.
Before You Start: The Basics
-
Warm the candle for 10–15 minutes before pouring
-
Always test a drop on your wrist or inner arm first. It should feel warm, not scalding
-
Pour from at least 12 inches above skin. The higher the pour, the cooler the wax lands
-
Keep it away from the face, eyes, and any broken or sensitive skin
-
Have a towel nearby for spills or cleanup
Where to Pour
Some spots are more forgiving (and more fun) than others to start with:
-
Shoulders and upper back: low-stakes and great for a first try
-
Chest and stomach: more sensitive, more sensation
-
Inner arms and thighs: for once you've got the hang of the temperature
-
Lower back: a favorite for pairing with massage afterward
Start somewhere less sensitive and work your way toward more sensitive areas as you both get comfortable.
Ready to Try It?
Wax stains? Not on our watch. A towel underneath and a warm washcloth after cleanup handle 99% of the mess, the rest is just part of the fun.
However you use it, solo, with a partner, as foreplay, or as the whole night, the goal is the same: slow down, pay attention, and let touch do the rest.
