Your World Cup-to-Bedroom Translation Guide

July 13, 2026

The World Cup is hot on everyone's mind, and there's a lot of soccer talk going around. While other people are arguing about offsides and extra time, we're here to point out that soccer talk and bedroom talk have more overlap than you might think. Consider this your halftime entertainment:

1. "Put me in, coach." On the field: I’m ready to play. In bed: I’m ready to play.

2. "Go faster!" On the field: Sprint to the goal. In bed: We don't need to explain this one.

3. "PENALTY!" On the field: a foul. In bed: Also a foul, but the fun kind.

4. "Nice and slow, build it up." On the field: Patient possession time. In bed: Foreplay 101.

5. “Penetrate.” On the field:  Moving the ball past defenders closer to their goal. In bed: Enough said.

6. "Extra time." On the field: Don’t end in a draw. In bed: Not complaining about overtime there, either.

7. “Offsides.” On the field: You got there too early. In bed: Same. We won’t tell anyone.

8. “GOAL.” On the field: The whole point of the game. In bed: Also, generally, the whole point.

The best part? In bed, there's no losing side.
