10 Ways to Take Care of Your Sexual Health This World Sexual Health Day

August 31, 2026

This year's World Sexual Health Day theme is Every Body: a declaration that sexual health, pleasure, and care belong to everyone, without exception.

From day one, our mission here at Good Clean Love has been simple: sexual health and pleasure should come with safety, care, and a healthy microbiome - not instead of it.

That's what Now It Gets Good means. When science supports sensuality. When your body feels safe, balanced, and supported, pleasure becomes what it's meant to be: joyful, uninhibited, and fully yours.

Here are 10 ways to show up for your sexual health this year:

Learn what's actually in your products

Ingredient literacy is self-advocacy. Knowing what belongs in your intimate care products, and just as importantly, what doesn't, puts you back in control. Parabens, glycerin, synthetic fragrance: once you know what to look for, label-reading gets a lot easier. Download our Ingredient Cheatsheet here.

Refresh your ritual

Take a look at what's in your nightstand. Anything expired? Anything that's never quite felt right? World Sexual Health Day is a good excuse to swap out the products that aren't serving you for formulas that actually support your body.

Get to know your microbiome

Getting your microbiome tested is one of the most empowering things you can do because it gives you a baseline and helps you understand what your body actually needs. Get started with Good Clean Clinical Care’s qPCR test.

Let go of the shame spiral

Talking about sexual health has historically been treated as taboo. But discomfort, dryness, curiosity, desire are all normal parts of being a body, and talking about them is both important and okay.

Treat pleasure like a wellness metric

Sleep, hydration, movement, and pleasure all belong on the same list. Prioritizing pleasure isn't indulgent; it's a legitimate part of taking care of yourself, backed by real physical and emotional benefits. Give it the same seriousness you give the rest of your wellness routine.

Give your body grace

Bodies change, with age, with stress, through postpartum, through menopause, through everyday life. That's exactly why we built our Changing Phases collection: products designed to move with you, from menstruation to menopause and everything in between. Sexual health isn't a fixed destination; it's a relationship you keep adjusting as you go, and your products should move with you.

Get screened

Whether you're single, partnered, or somewhere in between, regular screening is one of the simplest ways to protect yourself and the people you're intimate with.

Read something that turns you on

Pleasure lives in the mind as much as the body. Pick up a romance novel, an essay collection, or anything that reconnects you with desire on the page. Need some inspiration? Check out our Romantasy Finder Quiz.

Talk it through with your partner(s)

Use today as a nudge to check in: what's working, what's changed, what you'd like to explore. The best intimacy is built on communication.

Support the bigger movement

World Sexual Health Day is organized by the World Association for Sexual Health to advance sex education, access, and rights globally. Consider supporting a sex-ed nonprofit or sharing out information.

Every body deserves this. That's the whole idea behind World Sexual Health Day, and it's the idea we've built Good Clean Love around for over two decades. However you choose to show up for your sexual health this year  we hope it feels good, plain and simple.
